FE’s Nine Essential Topics

Many people view the New Year as an opportunity to institute a change. I assume that’s why the term “New Year’s Resolution” is a thing. While FE hasn’t made any official resolutions, you’re about to see some changes in our content. These changes have been in the works for a while, but you’ll start to see the fruits of that work starting this month.

As I’ve mentioned on many occasions, we’re constantly on alert for what our audience is most interested in. After a lot of research (seriously, it was a lot), we’ve identified topics that consistently rank highly. Those are, in no particular order:

• Alternative Protein

• Automation

• Cleaning|Sanitation

• Fabulous Food Plants

• Food Safety

• Maintenance Strategies

• OEE (overall equipment effectiveness)

• Packaging

• Sustainability

These nine Essential Topics stand head and shoulders above the others we cover, no matter the month, no matter the format. Because of that, we’re going to begin featuring at least three of them each month across all of our platforms: website, eMagazine, eNewsletter, podcasts, videos, webinars and whatever else we can think of. You’ll be able to identify an Essential Topic via color-coded icons. Regular visitors to our website may have already seen them in use.

That’s not to say we’re going to stop featuring other topics that fall under the umbrella of food and beverage manufacturing, we absolutely will continue to feature those. But we’re giving the topics above a little bit more attention to better match what your interests are.

Speaking of interests, we know that people are interested in getting their information in different ways. That’s why we’re going to be producing more multimedia content, also starting this month. Our posting of new podcasts or videos has admittedly been spotty. Moving forward, we’ll be posting new podcasts and videos regularly.

All of this is to say that we’re trying to make it easier for you to find the content that you want in the format that you want. Again, it’s not a New Year’s Resolution, per se, since this has always been our goal. At the very least, it’s our way of trying to help you get your New Year started off on the right foot. FE

Cheers,
Derrick
