Vacuum bowl cutters
Hygienic Secure range has a knife cover strip that is self-adjusting and can be easily clipped in and out. There are no concealed corners where deposits could form, and visual checks are easy. The area between the cutter bowl and the vacuum chamber does not need a seal. Large cleaning flaps in the vacuum vessel can be opened without tools, allowing easy access with the cleaning lance. Other features include tool-free removal of the bowl wiper, bowl support pad and silencer.

Mobile robots
Three models—K03 Twister, the K50 Pallet Truck and the K55 Pallet Stacker—are capable of circulating around the environment using magnetic guidance or mapping navigation, based on SLAM technology. K03 has a load capacity of up to 400 kg with a rotational lifting platform that allows it to rotate itself while maintaining the absolute position of the load. K50 and K55 can move in both directions of travel and are equipped with lifting forks to transport and handle loads vertically and horizontally.

The AccuBand blade system has been redesigned, including pulley sizing, blade path and automatic blade speed adjustments. The unit offers a sanitary design and repeatable setup, with a new blade guide mounting system that allows for quick change-outs and reduced downtime. It slices and applies a wide range of food products directly onto processing lines with precise targeting. It is suitable for use in the production jerky, sandwiches, bread snacks, and frozen and to-go meals such as cordon bleu and lasagna.

Bowl cutters
Seydelmann bowl cutters are designed for sausage and ground meat products as well as alternative protein products. Product structures from course chopping to very fine textures can be easily achieved, all with a uniform, homogenous mixing of the ingredients. Units allow flexibility to quickly change recipes and offer the highest levels of productivity. Systems include high-efficiency cutters, vacuum cutters, cooking cutters and vacuum cooking cutters.

SARS-CoV-2 test for food packaging
The SARS-CoV-2 PCR Workflow for food packaging and environmental surfaces can deliver results in as little as 3 hours. The test, which has been performance tested and validated by AOAC International for qualitative detection of the virus on environmental surfaces, includes three TaqMan RT‑PCR assays, to target SARS-CoV-2 (ORF1ab, N-gene, S-gene) genes, and one positive control assay, targeting the Human RNase P RPPH1 gene offering both high specificity and sensitivity. Because of the multi-target design of this assay, overall test sensitivity should not be impacted by the new SARS-CoV-2 strain lineage—B.1.1.7 variant.

Robotic knife sharpening system
Automated ROBOEdge increases efficiency with processing by using minimal parts and durable, long-lasting materials. Requiring only one operator, the unit is capable of sharpening at least 60 knives an hour. The system eliminates downtime with dual retractable drawers that allow one tray to be loaded while the other tray is being sharpened. In less than 60 seconds, each knife is hollow ground, honed, polished and returned to the tray as the next knife is selected.

Vacuum-rated, double-cone tumble blenders
Designed for large-scale yet intimate blending of free-flowing solids in a full suite of laboratory, pilot and production sizes, Model DCB-75 heats and dries product with efficiency as it is being blended. Other features include gas purging capability, a 16" pneumatically operated discharge valve, 5-passage rotary union, explosion-proof brake motor and PLC controls.

PerkinElmer Inc.

Pathogen detection assay for beef
Solus One E. coli O157 system features a single, 10-hour enrichment, 1-step sample preparation and automated workflow to process up to 192 tests per run. The instrument, kits and methods also require less training than traditional approaches for lab technicians, enabling them to “set it and forget it” for up to 2 hours. E. coli testing capabilities enables food suppliers to take action faster if the pathogen is detected in their facilities.

Harrington Hoists

Lube-free, wash down air hoists
Model TCW hoists have an unpainted compact and lightweight cast-aluminum body, zinc-plated corrosion-resistant load hooks, nickel-plated load chain, and stainless steel and bright chromate-coated components for wash-down applications. Gear box and chain lubricants comply with FDA standards for use in the food processing industry. They may be paired with the company’s push trolley for added mobility. Standard features include an unlimited duty cycle, continuous operation, fast lifting speed for applications where speed is critical, and easy access external speed adjustment capability.
